Superior Amplification 

Built into Horizon is the next generation of Marantz amplification: the Marantz Rise™ Amplifier. This powerful GaN FET (Gallium Nitride Field Effect Transistors) switching amplifier features a unique design that ensures a fast rise time, allowing it to quickly and accurately amplify audio signals. Marantz engineers opted to utilize GaN FET technology for Horizon for a number of reasons.

Compared to traditional silicon transistors, it offers significantly lower on-resistance, meaning it loses less power during switching. Its fast switching speeds ensure more control over the audio signal, enable high-frequency operation and deliver lower distortion and heat. Plus, its compact size frees up more space within the overall design for other essential audio components. The result is a superior listening experience achieved with speed and efficiency.

Powerful, Room-Filling Sound

When it comes to playback, Horizon and Grand Horizon effortlessly deliver room-filling sound thanks to Marantz Gravity™ Driver technology. This custom-designed driver technology uses neodymium magnets to ensure powerful, distortion-free audio, meaning your music always sounds precise and accurate—no matter what you’re listening to or where you’re listening to it.

Its uniquely crafted paper diaphragm with radial ridges balances strength and efficiency, while the carefully designed array of silk-dome tweeters and mid-range drivers works in conjunction with the Marantz Mirage DSP algorithm to create an exceptional soundstage. This array of powerful drivers that surround the central subwoofer is what enables it to deliver sound on such a large scale—especially when you’re listening with Grand Horizon.

To achieve such an engineering feat, Marantz designers turned to the fashion industry. This helped them to develop a speaker fabric that not only met the engineer’s strict requirements but also helped enhance the performance of the new wireless speaker.
